Rev. Dr. Gilbert V. Richards II is a leader, executive and soldier on the battlefield for Christ. Rev. Richards graduated from Cal-State East Bay in 2011 with a degree in Business Administration with an option in Finance and Corporate Management. In 2012 Rev. Richards matriculated in Berkeley School of Theology in order to prepare for ordained ministry in the AME Church. In 2016, Rev. Richards received his Master of Divinity degree (MDiv) from Berkeley School of Theology. September 2016, Rev. Richards was elected and ordained an itinerant elder in the AME Church. October 2017, Rev. Richards received his first pastoral assignment to St. James AME Church, Modesto where he worked in the gospel vineyard for two wonderful years. At the 155th Session of the California Conference Rev. Richards was assigned to the pastoral charge of Bethel AME Church, Marysville. In order to be a better servant for Christ, Rev. Richards matriculated into Emory University’s Candler School of Theology where he was conferred a Doctor of Ministry, degree May 2022. October 29th, 2024 at the seat of the 5th District Bishop Francine A. Brookins, Esq. assigned Rev. Richards to the pastoral charge of Fountain of Hope AME Church, the “The Friendliest Church in the Valley”. Rev. Dr. Gilbert V. Richards is a proud life member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc., husband to Lady Ashley E. Richards (a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority) and father to Lashall Richards.
