Our Pastor, The Reverend Gregory Keith McLeod
The Reverend Gregory Keith McLeod, the fourth born to the late Reverend Willie Joe McLeod and Janet Gail McLeod Harris. He was born in Marion, Kentucky and raised in Ozark, Alabama. Reverend McLeod has demonstrated a life-long love of the Gospel.
He accepted the call to the ministry at the tender age of 12. He preached his first initial sermon on March 26, 1994 at Shiloh AME Church, Mt. Andrews, Alabama where his father, the late Reverend Willie Joe McLeod, served as senior pastor.
In September 1997 at age 17 Rev. McLeod was ordained an itinerant deacon in the AME Church by Bishop Zedekiah Lazett Grady. In September 1999 at age 19 he was ordained an itinerant elder in the AME Church by Bishop Zedekiah Lazett Grady.
The same year he was assigned to his first pastoral charge Mt. Olive AME Church, Pineapple, Alabama. Subsequently, he was appointed and pastored the following churches:
Dunn’s Chapel A.M.E. Troy, Alabama, Jones Chapel A.M.E. Omega, Alabama, Bethel AME Church and Lee Chapel A.M.E. Church both of Birmingham, Alabama. In November 2011, he was transferred from the Ninth Episcopal District (Alabama) to the Fifth Episcopal District of the AME Church. This move landed him in “The Gateway” to the west St Louis, Missouri where Bishop T. Larry Kirkland assigned him to shepherd the flock at Ward Chapel AME Church, Florissant, Missouri. In October 2012 he was assigned to Brookins Community AME Church in the “City of Angels” Los Angeles, California. In his role as Senior Pastor of Brookins, he focused on increasing the body of Christ by empowering his congregants to target, think and talk “increase” in their faith, favor, family and finance.
Pastor McLeod received his early education in the Ozark City School System and graduated from Carroll High School, in Ozark, Alabama. He matriculated at George C. Wallace State Community College in Dothan, Alabama, Miles College, Birmingham, Alabama. He’s a graduate of Troy University, Troy, Alabama where he earned a Bachelors of Science degree in Psychology with a minor in Sociology. He is currently pursuing a Masters of Science in Human Resource Management pending August 2016. Pastor McLeod has also been the recipient of numerous awards and recognitions.
A loving husband and father, Pastor McLeod is married to Lady Savalla Nicole Tanner McLeod. He is the proud father of four sons: Jeremiah Josiah, Gregory Keith II, Gabriel Kayden and Joshua Gavin.
